FIELD: power industry.
SUBSTANCE: energy storage unit includes a vacuumised housing with a flywheel in the form of a vertical cylindrical tubular rotor of two or more tubes. Tubes are connected with flexible elements, the periphery of which is installed into adjacent rotor tubes. Motor generator stator is fixed in the housing, motor generator rotor is fixed on the rotor with a supporting bearing in lower part of rotor and magnetic bearing with constant magnet in upper part. Turning support elements are fixed on the central part of flexible elements. An additional motor generator is installed in the storage unit.
EFFECT: creation of a flywheel design with increased rotation energy, lower friction losses in the supporting and safer in case of an emergency.
