FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: steel casting is performed using continuous casting machine which has casting mould, a pair of upper magnetic poles and a pair of lower magnetic poles arranged on outer surfaces of the casting mould opposite to each other along the long side of the mould. Steel casting is performed through submersible nozzle with output for melted steel between position of peak of constant magnetic field of upper magnetic poles and position of peak of constant magnetic field of lower magnetic poles. Constant magnetic fields applied to the pair of upper magnetic poles and to the pair of lower magnetic poles is used for slowdown of melted steel flow. Melted steel is mixed by alternating magnetic field applied simultaneously to the pair of upper magnetic poles. Intensity of alternating magnetic field applied to the pair of upper magnetic poles and intensity of constant magnetic fields applied to the pair of upper and lower magnetic poles are controlled within certain ranges depending on the width of casting slab.
EFFECT: obtaining high-quality slab without gas inclusions and flux inclusions.
