FIELD: electricity.
SUBSTANCE: angle-asynchronous complex phase currents and voltages at fundamental frequency are measured at two ends of the line at the moment of short-circuit. Values of resistance from the first end of the line to the point of damage and resistance from the second end of the line to the point of damage are determined. Phase currents and voltages are converted to symmetrical components - forward, reverse and zero-sequence complex currents and voltages. The angle between zero, reverse or forward sequence voltages at the ends of the line or the angle between phase voltages at the ends of the line are determined. Synchronisation is carried out by turning vectors of complex values of currents and voltages by the obtained angle. Relative distances from the ends of the line to the point of damage are determined from corresponding expressions.
EFFECT: high accuracy of determining a point of damage.
