FIELD: electric power industry; electrical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to power engineering and electrical engineering, namely to relay protection and automation of electrical networks. Moment of damage is recorded, according to the recorded waveforms of the phase currents of the pre-emergency and emergency modes, the currents of the direct, reverse and zero sequences are determined, emergency current model is used and positive-sequence current is determined at the point of assumed fault; purely emergency current is obtained by subtraction of positive-sequence current from current of the same sequence in pre-emergency mode. In addition, information on resistance of direct, reverse and zero sequences of systems at ends of power transmission line, on length and specific resistance of power transmission line of direct and zero sequences is used. To determine the point of damage, a matrix expression is formed, which minimizes the error in calculating the distance to the point of damage by the least squares method.
EFFECT: improving accuracy of one-sided determination of a point of damage of a power transmission line, using only currents of emergency and pre-emergency modes.
