FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: set of invention relates to continuous metal casting. Feed of liquid metal 3 into die 1 is controlled with the help of shutoff device 4. Partially hardened metal billet 7 is drawn from die 1 with the help of appropriate drawing device 8. Measured actual magnitude (hG) of melt level (9) in die is fed to melt level controller for it to define preset position (p*) for shutoff device (4) proceeding from actual magnitude (hG) and appropriate preset magnitude (hG*). Interference compensator is used to define magnitude (z) of interference compensation. Corrected preset position is fed to shutoff device 4. Interference magnitude compensator comprises the model of die 1 for compensator to define expected magnitude (hE) of melt level 9 proceeding from model magnitude (i).
EFFECT: higher precision of control to up the metal billet hardening quality.
