FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: insulation composition contains bitumen, an absorbent, an oxidant and additionally liquid polysiloxane. The oxidant used is saturated iron (III) sulphate solution or concentrated sulphuric acid and/or orthophosphoric acid and/or nitric acid. Content of the components is as follows, wt %: bitumen - 77-75; absorbent - 2-15; liquid polysiloxane - 0.001-0.01; oxidant - the balance. The method of producing the composition involves mixing bitumen and the absorbent while heating to obtain a homogeneous mixture, sprinkling the oxidant, further heating and holding at a temperature required for stabilisation. Before sprinkling the oxidant, liquid polysiloxane is added while mixing bitumen and the absorbent, and sprinkling begins at temperature of 130°C.
EFFECT: avoiding boiling of the reaction mixture and wastage of the end product, which increases output of the product.
