SUBSTANCE: wheelchair safety device comprises a break arm, a first rocker arm, a second rocker arm, a third rocker arm, a forth rocker arm, an upper brake plate, a brake drum, a lower brake plate, a park drum, as well as an angularly adjusted support plate. One end of the first rocker arm, second rocker arm and third rocker arm are pivotally connected with the break arm, while the other end of the first rocker arm and second rocker arm are pivotally connected with one end of the forth rocker arm, whereas the other end of the forth rocker arm is pivotally connected with the upper brake plate, while the other end of the third rocker arm is pivotally connected with the brake plate. One end of the upper brake plate is pivotally attached to the angularly adjusted support plate, while the other end of the upper brake plate comprises the break drum; one end of the lower break plate is pivotally attached to the angularly adjusted support plate, whereas the other end of the lower brake plate comprises the park drum; the break drum and park drum rest against the related wheelchair tires.

EFFECT: invention provides higher reliability of the brake device and user's safety.
