FIELD: process engineering.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to production of sorbents used for decontamination of organisms of animals and human being at radiochemical contamination by cesium. Fine silica is mixed with water solution of potassium hydroxide, said mix being subjected to hydrothermal treatment at 120°C for 2-3 hours. After filtration, aluminium salt solution is added to filtrate, said solution having acid anion stronger than polysilicon acid. Said initial components are taken at the ratio that allows obtaining of KAlSi3O8-formula material. Reaction mix is held for 10-180 minutes to ensure neutral pH. Formed precipitate is flushed and dehydrated.

EFFECT: high-capacity sorbent with stable performances.
