FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metal forming and may be used for radial expansion of container housing. Container cylindrical housing with lengthwise weld is produced. Collar is made at, at least, one end of said housing. Housing is locked around said collar in as-suspended by means for collar locking and radially expanded from locked end towards suspended end by flexible forming tool. Note here that forming tool has continuous peripheral surface of expansion. Besides, there is the means for radial adjustment of diametre of said peripheral surface of expansion.
EFFECT: higher quality owing to ruled out irregularities of edges.
