FIELD: machine building.

SUBSTANCE: method to detect directions of electric current components in a tribotechnical system "polymer-metal" of a drum-block brake during its heating in bench conditions consists in setting a common law of microcurrent formation on macroareas of friction surfaces due to formation of "stiff" and "soft" oxide films on them. Then under the condition that electronic work function from a friction pad Wn is higher than electronic work function from a rim of a brake drum WM, with preferable direction of its rotation, the total current of electrisation I"ф" generated in circuits by triboelectromotive forces is detected with account of directions of its summands. The method to detect directions of electric current components in a tribotechnical system "polymer-metal" of a drum-block brake with account of preferable direction of brake drum rotation during its heating in bench conditions above the permissible temperature for materials of a friction pad consists in setting a common law of microcurrent formation on macroareas of friction surfaces due to formation of "stiff" and "soft" oxide films on them. Then the total current of electrisation I"ф" generated in circuits due to triboelectromotive forces is detected with account of directions of its summands.

EFFECT: method achieves detection of directions of total current components generated with microthermoelectric generators and microthermoelectric refrigerators on macroareas of direct and reverse friction pairs "polymer - metal" of a drum-block brake during their heating in bench conditions.
