FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metallurgy. Batched amount of bulk material is fed from the bin to flute sides extending to pits composed by open strong boxes separated by parallel lengthwise baffles. Material is distributed over the flute subject to the mould working cross-section and filled therein via strong box bottom flaps for protection of metal exposed surface. Material is fed into the mould at time interval depending upon cast steel grade and casing parameters. It comprises feeding and limiting scrapers and drives of their reciprocation over the bottom of said flute and strong boxes for uniform fill of the latter and limitation of their inner volume. Device can comprise two bulk material feed systems with common bin or with two separate bins.
EFFECT: precise batching and uniform distribution of powders and pellets over metal surface, higher quality of billets.
