ARRAY OF SUPERCONDUCTING DETECTORS OF SUBMILLIMETRE AND FAR-INFRARED RADIATION Russian patent published in 2014 - IPC H01L27/14

Abstract RU 2515416 C1

FIELD: physics, optics.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to optoelectronics and specifically to multi-element receivers of submillimetre and far-infrared radiation, and can be sued in terahertz microscopy, in studying semiconductor radiators, in security systems, medicine etc. The array of superconducting detectors on electronic heating comprises interconnected planar antennae with an element integrated into each antenna, said element being sensitive to infrared radiation, wherein branches of each antenna have the shape of logarithmic spirals. On each area connecting the antennae to each other, there is at least one longitudinal slit or narrowing. That area has high wave impedance and, owing to constructive interference of waves reflected from the near and far edges of the section, a mode close to an idle mode is realised at the end of the spiral. High-frequency current is reflected at the beginning of the section with high wave impedance and the antenna operates in a mode close to an isolated antenna.

EFFECT: low influence of high-frequency current of each planar antenna on neighbouring antennae and, as a result, low interference of neighbouring antennae with each other.
