FIELD: transport.
SUBSTANCE: proposed device serves to detect flow rate meter (11) malfunction when deviation factor, i.e. deviation of estimated sucked air volume deviation relative to actual volume measured by air flow rate meter (11) exceeds reference magnitude for determination of malfunction proceeding from ICE (1) rpm. As engine rpm decreases, upper extreme criterion of diagnostics increases while lower one decreases to narrow the range of defining of air flow meter defect availability Therefore, said diagnostics can be executed over the entire ICE (1) rpm range without deteriorating the performances of off-gas exhaust system which can be caused by flaws in air flow meter (11).
EFFECT: flaw detection at low volumes of sucked air.
