SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of identifying and analysing persistent scatterers (PS) in a series of digital synthetic aperture radar (SAR) images. Disclosed is a method of identifying PS in digital SAR images of an area of the Earth's surface, each taken at a respective time. The method involves processing the digital images to produce digital generalised differential interferograms, wherein the method also involves analysing properties of pairs of pixels in the digital generalised differential interferograms to identify individual pixels imaging PS.
EFFECT: high efficiency of identifying PS, fewer digital image processing errors.
