FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: this invention can be used for production of paper, plastics and dyes. Proposed method comprises provision of calcium carbonate, provision of acid in amount of 5-50 wt % per calcium carbonate mass with pKa smaller than or equal to 2.5; provision of gaseous CO2, provision of at least one water-soluble non-polymer organic and/or inorganic weak acid and/or acid salt of said at least one water-soluble non-polymer organic and/or inorganic weak acid. Then, calcium carbonate is brought in contact with at least acid with pKa smaller than or equal to 2.5; provision of gaseous CO2, provision of at least one water-soluble non-polymer organic and/or inorganic weak acid and/or acid salt of said at least one water-soluble non-polymer organic and/or inorganic weak acid. Note here said water-soluble non-polymer organic and/or inorganic weak acid features pKa larger than 2.5 while anion of appropriate acid can form water-insoluble calcium salts.
EFFECT: controlled particle size, higher specific surface and yield.
