INDICATION MECHANISM FOR AUTOMATIC APPLICATOR, PARTICULARLY FOR INSULIN Russian patent published in 2014 - IPC A61M5/20 A61M5/315

Abstract RU 2520159 C2

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medical equipment, namely an indication mechanism for an automatic applicator, particularly for insulin or other liquid drugs, particularly for multiple injections of established doses of a drug from an interchangeable container, e.g. for an unassisted administration of insulin in diabetic patients. The indication mechanism comprises an applicator body and a unit of at least two sleeves movably connected to each other. An indicator sleeve is mounted on a drive sleeve directly in the applicator body. The indicator sleeve contains an indicator marking only on its outer surface. The indicator sleeve is only mounted to slide, axially and lengthwise by a key connection directly on the outer surface of the single drive sleeve without touching the inner surface of the applicator body. The indicator sleeve with its distal end is coaxially and directly connected to a separate pull-and-push control nut adjoining the above and rotatable by a threaded connection on the drive sleeve which is coaxially and lengthwise pulled or pushed by the pull-and-push control nut along the drive sleeve. The indicator sleeve only serves to indicate the established dose and is functionally separated from a dose establishing mechanism.

EFFECT: invention enables accurate controlled establishing and indicating of the established dose of the drug preparation, maintaining the automatic injection of the drug preparation with no effort and drug loss, eg caused by a backflow generated by the dose establishing, particularly by minimising an internal friction force in the device; making the scale with relatively large symbols in any numbers and combinations and characters and indication figures, by removing any elements consuming the space on the indicator sleeve.
