FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to the veterinary science and aims at detecting bovine leukemia virus (BLV) with the use of polymerase chain reaction. The reaction uses oligonucleotides having a sequence of not less than 15 sequential bases inside any of the base sequences of BLV locus genomes presented in SEQ ID NO from 1 to 11.

EFFECT: invention provides the universal method for detecting BLV irrespective of a BLV attribute to a specific population by using the conserved regions of the genome - gag and pol.
