SUBSTANCE: formation of a microstructured layer of titanium nitride is realised by an impact on a titanium substrate by a femtosecond laser irradiation with pulse energy of about 100 mcJ and power density in pulse of about 1013 W/cm2 in a liquid nitrogen medium.

EFFECT: provision of wear-resistant and corrosion-resistant coatings on products from titanium or its alloys, improvement of antifriction properties of their surfaces.
