FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods of hardening and modifying a surface, specifically laser hardening, and can be used to increase resistance of parts from titanium alloys. Method of producing multilayer modified surface of titanium plate includes surface laser treatment of sides of plate, wherein said processing is performed on both sides of plate in turn by multichannel diode laser with power of 5 kW, wherein said reinforcing paths are applied on plate surface by means of laser radiation passages along the same track. Said inert gas is simultaneously fed into laser radiation.

EFFECT: ensuring uniformity of structure, hardness and depth of hardened layer of titanium plate.
