FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to extraction of decarburised aluminium produced by thermometry. Proposed method comprises production of fused melt containing Al4C3 and aluminium and cooling of fused melt. Sufficient amount of finely distributed gas is added to fused allow at approx. 700°C to 900°C to separate aluminium from release of Al4C3 by flotation of released Al4C3. This produces two phases. Note here that released Al4C3 makes a top layer while bottom layer is composed by carburised aluminium. Note also that addition of sufficient amount of finely distributed gas comprises compaction of obtained solid materials on fused melt surface into fused alloy and extraction of carburised aluminium produced by thermometry from released Al4C3. Then, aluminium is extracted from release Al4C3 by decantation.
EFFECT: higher yield.
