METHOD OF TREATING DESTRUCTIVE FORMS OF CHRONIC GENERAL PERIODONTITIS WITH USING SUBMUCOSAL LONG-TERM SPLINTING Russian patent published in 2014 - IPC A61C8/02 

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: mucoperiosteal flaps are stripped from vestibular and oral surfaces. Subgingival dental deposits and granulation tissue are removed. A surface of dental roots is polished, and the bone bed is processed. Grooves for submucosal fixation of an encircling ligature of a woven wire of the diameter of 0.2 mm cleaned and processed before splinting are formed from the vestibular surface of the dental roots at the level of an upper one-third. That is followed by a bone grafting of the alveolar process with using a biomaterial combined with a patient's platelet enriched blood plasma in a ratio of 1:3. The plastic material is covered by free periosteal autograft from grafting beds. Thereafter, the mucosal flaps are mobilised and closed at the level of the dental neck with interrupted sutures.

EFFECT: by submucosal dental fixation combined with osteopalsty of the alveolar process, the method enables providing higher surgical effectiveness in severe chronic general periodontitis and preserving frontal teeth with degree III-IV of mobility, ensuring natural micromotion of the splinted teeth.
