FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: method includes depositing a coating on the base in the form of a sitting droplet, applying a force on said droplet and determining adhesion strength from the breaking load as a ratio of the breaking load to the tearing area of the coating. A sitting droplet is formed on a local coating area from solder with a flexible tug soldered in said droplet. A tearing or cut-off force is applied to the flexible tug. The tearing area of the coating is estimated once the sitting droplet with the coating is torn from the base.
EFFECT: high accuracy of estimating adhesion strength of a coating with a base and broader capabilities of the method.
