FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: method involves flattening according to the level of adhesion inhibitor delivered to the sole of a reduction melting furnace with a movable sole, supply of agglomerate cake with the material containing iron oxide, and carbonaceous reducing agent to the adhesion inhibitor, flattening according to the level of the agglomerate cake supplied to the adhesion inhibitor. The agglomerate cake is heated to reduce and melt the iron oxide present in the agglomerate cake, in order to produce granulated metallic iron, then it is unloaded by a screw unloader. The adhesion inhibitor supplied to the sole is evenly distributed by the adhesion inhibitor screw flattener so that the flattened adhesion inhibitor has the evenness equal to 40% or less of the average diameter of the agglomerate cake particle, and the agglomerate cake supplied to the adhesion inhibitor is evenly laid by the adhesion inhibitor screw flattener so that it forms a solid layer.
EFFECT: agglomerate cake is subject to even thermal processing in order to provide for high quality granulated metallic iron in relevant volume.
