FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to obtaining of granulated metal. A method involves stages, at which agglomerates containing iron oxide and a carbon-containing reducing agent are supplied to a bottom of a reducing melting furnace like a furnace with a movable bottom and agglomerates are heated for reduction and melting of iron oxide; the obtained granulated iron is cooled down and unloaded from the furnace. During heating in the reducing melting furnace a provision is made for an upstream zone providing reduction of iron oxide in agglomerates in a solid state, which has the temperature set on the level of 1300°C to 1450°C, and a provision is made for a downstream zone in the furnace, which ensues carbonisation, melting and coalescence of the reduced iron in agglomerates, which has the temperature set on the level of 1400°C to 1550°C. Agglomerates having an average diameter of not less than 19.5 mm and not more than 32 mm are supplied to the furnace bottom for heating of agglomerates at furnace bottom distribution density of not less than 0.5 and not more than 0.8.
EFFECT: invention is aimed at improvement of productivity.
