FIELD: measurement technology.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to measurements, namely to calibration of vehicles speed measurement complex. System and method of calibrating vehicles (VC) speed measurement complex include computer (CPU) connected with video camera with rotary platform and with laser range finder. Video camera is configured to generate image of roadway and VC located on it and transmits image to CPU. Laser range finder is configured to project light mark into distance point of measuring from three different angular positions. CPU is configured for image analysis, as well as to calculate calibration parameters and functions needed for positioning objects, using data on distance to light marks and their pixel coordinates, as well as using lens and sensitive matrix of video camera internal calibration data.
EFFECT: simplified calibration of VC speed measurement complex containing video camera, performing calibration in automatic mode with possibility of introduction of corrections in values of calibration parameters during operation of VC speed measurement complex.
