SUBSTANCE: invention relates to an image processing device and method. The device comprises classification means configured to classify an image for each given image size according to orthogonal transformation dimensions used in orthogonal transformation performed with respect to said image; and filter means configured to filter out noise in each image component for each said image size, classified by said classification means, using filter coefficients set according to local properties of said image corresponding to said orthogonal transformation dimension of said image component.
EFFECT: preventing image quality degradation by removing noise in each orthogonal transformation dimension of the image component.
