SUPERCONDENSER MANUFACTURING METHOD Russian patent published in 2014 - IPC H01L29/92

Abstract RU 2533930 C2

FIELD: power industry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to supercondensers and can be used in the power industry, in helioenergetics, as independent mobile miniature low-current power supplies with controlled discharge characteristics, in communication systems as a basic element of independent information receiving-transmitting nodes, in systems and assemblies of microcircuitry, in equipment of the biomedical purpose, in other devices functioning due to electrical energy stored in a supercondenser. As a substrate material, nickel foam is used. It is a material with high porosity of 96-97% and good electrical and heat conducting properties, chemical and thermal stability, metal strength and stiffness, and a developed specific surface. As investigated materials applied onto the substrate, diluted solutions of Co, Ni, Mn nitrates and their concentration ratios were used. In order to obtain oxide layers, a mixture of hydroxides of deposited components or nitrates was applied as a thin layer by means of a sol gel method or by aerosol sputtering onto the substrate (nickel foam); then, it was dried at a temperature of 90°C and roasted at a temperature of 360-370°C. The proposed supercondensers have high freeze resistance and low internal resistance (1-10 Ohm) if compared to the known specimens.

EFFECT: reduction of the internal resistance and lower temperature limit of operation of the supercondensers allows considerable enlargement of their application spheres.
