SUBSTANCE: invention refers to ferrous metallurgy. Control of secondary cooling of an ingot using a continuous-casting machine is performed by sections of a secondary cooling zone depending on change of the drawing speed. During the transient process, the temperature of a continuously cast ingot surface is changed by the cooling rate adjustment in each section of the secondary cooling zone by relation
EFFECT: improving finished products quality due to reduction of temperature tensions in the continuously cast ingot and increasing strength of the ingot cover during transient processes under change of the drawing speed.
