SUBSTANCE: method for dynamic control of cooling slab in secondary cooling zone of continuous casting machine comprises steps of determining water flow rate for cooling zones according to expression G_i(τ) = g(τ^*(z_i,τ))•l_i•B_i, where G_i - water flow rate in i-zone of cooling, cub. m/h; i = 1,2,τN - index corresponding to number of secondary cooling zone; l_i - length value of cooling zone, m; B_i - cooled width of slab in i-zone of cooling, m; z_i - special coordinates of cooling zones, for example of its mean portion, measured from meniscus; τ^* = τ^*(z,τ) -current time moment measured from moment of casting process starting, s; τ - time period (second) during which in casting machine was slab element that in current time moment is in point z of technological axis of machine, said time period is determined according to integral equation where ν(τ) - change of casting speed in time, m/s; g(τ^*) - relation of specific water flow rate (cub. m/sq. m x h) and time τ^*, depending upon cooling mode for given steel kind or empirically or according to standard solidification rate at stationary casting speed and at predetermined temperature change of slab surface t = (τ^*).
