FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to production of tools, particularly, to production of cutting tools along with building-up. Proposed method comprises the body mechanical and thermal treatment, building up of working ply with rapid-machining steel, its surface plastic deformation and high-temperature tempering. In compliance with this invention, zone of thermal effects is hardened at surface plastic deformation by cold-hardening while high-temperature tempering features local character.
EFFECT: decreased consumption of high-speed steel, lower costs of building-up and thermal processing, higher process efficiency.
