FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: after mechanical and thermal treatment of the tool body blank arc welding is performed at a current of 50 to 56 A and an arc voltage of 5 to 6 V, controlling the transfer of electrode metal in the arc by means of pulse wire feed and synchronized pulsed current regime and the formation of a fused layer thickness from 1 to 2 mm. Accelerated cooling is performed after cladding using copper plates attached to the body of the tool blank. Reinforcing mintage of welded metal is performed with surface striker, which impact energy is 6 to 7J. Local release of the welded high-speed cutting steel and the metal of the thermal effect zone (TEZ) at a temperature of 520 to 540°C.
EFFECT: method allows to increase the hardness and strength of the metal of the thermal-affected zone, increase wear resistance of bimetallic tool cutting part and reduce energy consumption for its manufacturing.
