FIELD: oil and gas industry.
SUBSTANCE: in different degree the water saturated sorbent is introduced into oil or oil product directly from water environment. Oil capacity calculation M is made as per the formula M=p(C1-C2)/m, where p is oil product density, (C1) is volume of oil or oil product before introduction of the sorbent, (C2) is volume of oil or oil product upon removal of the sorbent, m is weight of the dry sorbent.
EFFECT: development of simple and effective testing method to define oil capacity for sorbents depending on their water saturation degree.
