FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: fibre laser for generating light pulses comprises a period pulse pumping source and a fibre ring resonator with overall normal dispersion, consisting of active and passive fibres with total length of more than 1 km. A coupler for outputting the generated radiation is connected by its input to the output of the fibre ring resonator. The output of the period pulse pumping source is connected to the coupler for inputting pumping radiation, the output of which is connected to the active fibre. An additional coupler is connected by its input to the second output of the fibre ring resonator and by its output to the optical input of a photodetector. The electrical output of the photodetector is connected to the input of an electrical signal delay line, the output of which is connected to the input of a period pulse pumping source control unit, the output of which is connected to the input of the period pulse pumping source.
EFFECT: high energy of radiation pulses generated by a fibre laser.
