FIELD: controlling.
SUBSTANCE: method relates to methods for control used in research of fibre lasers generating at a wavelength of 1.55 mcm. The technical result is achieved by changing the pumping power of the emission source, wherein a fibre femtosecond laser operating in the coupled soliton generation mode is used as an emission source, using a highly nonlinear germanosilicate fibre as part of a resonator, with measuring equipment connected thereto, such as an autocorrelator and an optical spectrum analyser. The method for controlling the amount of coupled solitons in a femtosecond fibre laser consists in changing the power of emission of the pumping source. An annular fibre femtosecond laser operating in the mode of generation of coupled soliton groups is used as a femtosecond laser. The change in the amount of coupled pulses is started with obtaining stable generation of coupled soliton groups, after which a change in the pumping power should be started. The pitch in the change in the pumping power should be sufficient to change the level of quantisation of the soliton energy.
EFFECT: possibility of implementing passive mode synchronisation with a adjustable amount of coupled pulses with a constant phase ratio between the pulses in a fibre laser.
