FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: functionally inactive macrophages are prepared from mouse's peritoneal exudate with the use of functionally active inflammatory macrophages prepared by administering an inflammatory agent presented by starch or proteose-peptone into the animal's abdominal cavity. The starch suspension is brought to the boiling point and frozen immediately. Before use, it is de-frozen, homogenised and re-suspended for the intra-abdominal administration. The prepared peritoneal macrophages are cultured for 96 hours.
EFFECT: using the given method enables preparing the functionally inactive or quiescent macrophages similar in its properties to resident ones, and the method can be used in screening operations to identify the immunomodulatory properties in the agents of various origins.
