FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used to recycle processing products of uranium hexafluoride waste and preparing high purity silicone. A reaction mixture containing uranium tetrafluoride and silicone dioxide in molar ratio (1.007-1.015):1, respectively are subject to mechano-chemical activation in a disintegrating machine to ensure particle fraction 7-15 mcm within 34-45% in the reaction mixture. The reaction mixture is thermally treated at 600-750°C no more than 30 min later after the process of activation is completed.
EFFECT: solid-phase reaction between uranium tetrafluoride and silicone dioxide provides silicone-free uranium suboxide and oxide containing 0,2-0,26% fluorine and silicone tetrafluoride.
