FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: in the method, computed tomography is carried out with a scanning step of not more than 2.5 mm, analysis of the bitmap image of a structural component is carried out using a viewing program which realises a RGB colour model; the method includes assigning a coordinate system and boundaries of the analysis region, obtaining a digital matrix of colour indices of the pixels of the analysis region, determining the outline of the section of the structural component, determining the average value of the colour index of pixels of sections of the structural component; the distribution of modulus of elasticity values in the sections of the structural components is judged from the values of the elements of the digital matrix generated by the viewing program during analysis.

EFFECT: high accuracy of determining modulus of elasticity of heterogeneous materials of the analysed component.
