FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: determining foetal maturity requires conducting ultrasound. That involves measuring a width of foetal adrenal cortex (K) and a width of foetal adrenal medulla (M) in its sagittal section produced by scanning along a maximum adrenal length. If the relation K/M is 0.99 or less, the foetus is stated as mature. In special case, an adrenal gland closest to an ultrasonic sensor is taken for measurements.
EFFECT: method provides preventing complications, as well as enables simplifying determining the foetal maturity with preserving its accuracy by detecting the only one parameter adequate for this determination.
