FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to cermets, namely to obtaining of the composite material Al2O3-Al. The alloy Al-Mg with the content of magnesium of 15-25 wt % is processed with a water solution of caustic soda until the sediment in the form of granules is formed in mother liquor. The sediment is separated from mother liquor and washed with water to the medium pH value of 9.0-9.3, then the granules, belonging to the fraction of 630-315 mcm, 315-200 mcm, 200-160 mcm, 160-100 mcm, 100-63 mcm and 63-50 mcm, are extracted from the sediment. Before pressing of a work-piece the granules are dried in air. A charge from the granules is pressed, the obtained work-piece is heated by an air heat-carrier to initiate in it the process of self-spreading high-temperature synthesis and cooled by exposure in air at room temperature.
EFFECT: increase of the open porosity and relative deformation of the material before destruction is ensured with the preservation of its sufficiently high strength.
