FIELD: food industry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to food industry, in particular, to a casing braking unit intended for food products packaging. The braking unit is intended for application of a friction force to a tubular or bag-shaped packaging casing (M) positioned on the filling tube (10) of the installation for such casing (M) stuffing and closure such as a clipper (CM) for restriction of the said casing (M) movement during stuffing. The filling tube (10) has a longitudinal axis (A). The casing braking unit (100, 200; 300; 400; 500; 600; 700) contains at least one braking device (B) capable of reversible motion between the disengaged position, wherein the braking device (B) is partly displaced from the filling tube (10), and the braking position wherein the braking device (B) almost completely encloses the filling tube (10); the braking device has at least two free ends (130a, 130b; 230a, 230b, 240a, 240b; 330a, 330b, 340a, 340b; 430a, 430b, 440a, 440b; 530a, 530b, 540a, 540b; 730a, 730b, 740a, 740b). The casing braking unit (100; 200) additionally contains at least two support elements (110, 120; 210, 220; 310, 320; 410, 420; 510, 520; 610, 620; 710, 720) for support and reversible motion of at least one braking device (B) between the disengaged position and the braking position within a plane passing through at least the approximately vertical longitudinal axis (A) of the filling tube (10).

EFFECT: ensuring obtainment of a clipper having a more space-efficient and simpler design.
