FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: method includes reacting an adamantane derivative with an isothiocyanate derivative while boiling in a solvent medium and then extracting the reaction product. The adamantane derivative used is 1,3-dehydroadamantane and the isothiocyanate derivative is a solution of isothiocyanic acid solution in diethyl ether prepared in advance. The reaction is carried out in a medium of diethyl ether for 3 hours in molar ratio of 1,3-dehydroadamantane:isothiocyanic acid:diethyl ether=1:1.5:20.
EFFECT: method enables to obtain a 1-adamantyl isothiocyanate in mild conditions with high output.
