FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to techniques for producing oxide material having a langasite-type structure, which has potential as material for piezoelectric devices used at high temperatures. The oxide material has the composition AE3TaGa3-xAlxSi2O14 (1) and AE3NbGa3-xAlxSi2O14 (2), where AE is an alkali-earth metal element selected from a group consisting of Mg, Ca, Sr and Ba, and 0≤X≤3; and contains at least one element selected from a group consisting of Ir, Pt, Au and Rh, as an additive element. By adding at least one element selected from the group consisting of Ir, Pt, Au, and Rh to a raw material which is a composition used for producing the desired oxide material as an additive element, it is possible to control wettability between a matrix portion at the bottom portion of a crucible and a melt of the raw material, thereby carrying out stable production of the oxide material while controlling the wetting and spread of the melt of the raw material flowing out through a hole in the crucible.
EFFECT: invention enables to obtain an oxide material having a langasite-type structure, having the desired shape irrespective of the shape or material of the crucible.
