SUBSTANCE: invention relates to communication equipment and can be used in mobile communication systems. The invention provides for intermittent reception by a mobile communication station, a basic station and a wireless communication station. The method of intermittent reception in the wireless communication system involves the following stages: in case of using activation of continuous aggregation of carriers there installed is a common timer of duration of activation and/or a common timer of inactivity of intermittent reception for the primary cell and each of the secondary cells; and in case of intermittent aggregation of the carrier there installed are independent timers of duration of activation and/or independent timers of inactivity of intermittent reception for the primary cell and each of the secondary cells.
EFFECT: preservation of energy consumed by a mobile communication station.
