FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: recipient's cornea is trephined. nucleus of lens is removed extracapsularly. A donor transplant is placed into a recipient's bed. Four interrupted and continuous blanket sutures are applied. blanket suture loops are pulled up, and the suture ends are tightened with a temporary knots. Viscoelastic is inserted into an anterior chamber; bimanual tips of an aspiration-irrigation system of a phacoemulsifier are inserted into the lumens between the blanket suture loops. Lens mass is removed; the temporary knot connecting the blanket suture ends is released; viscoelastic is introduced again; an intraocular lens (IOL) is implanted by means of an injector. Viscoelastic is removed, and the transplant is fixed completely.
EFFECT: method enables reducing the number of the intra- and postoperative complications associated with the stage of lens mass removal, such as posterior capsular tear and vitreous fallout, as well as preventing the complications associated with insufficient lens mass removal from an equator.
