FIELD: electricity.
SUBSTANCE: electrical generating plant of a ship includes the main primary thermal engine, a reduction gear, a disconnecting coupling, an electrical propulsion machine, a propeller screw, an electrical converter, the main distribution panel, switching elements, an auxiliary diesel generator, a static DC source and auxiliary consumers. The output shaft of the primary thermal engine is connected through the reduction gear and the first disconnecting coupling to the shaft of the electrical propulsion machine. The auxiliary diesel generator is connected through the first switching element to buses of the main distribution panel, to which auxiliary consumers are connected. A power channel of the electrical generating plant is made using DC electrical machines. A power channel of the electrical generating plant is made using DC electrical machines. Anchor chains of DC electrical propulsion machines are electrically connected to each other as per a generator-engine system.
EFFECT: high reliability and improvement of operating characteristics of the system; improvement of energy efficiency and improvement of vibration and noise characteristics.
