FIELD: measurement equipment.
SUBSTANCE: two antenna arrays on inclined prisms are arranged on the surface of the test item at the pre-calculated distance between each other; ultrasonic pulses are emitted into the test item independently by each element of the radiating array; ultrasonic echo pulses reflected from bottom surface are fixed by elements of a recording array; a variety of partial images is restored considering transformation of types of waves at reflections; an image of profile of the bottom surface is obtained, as per which a table of thickness values of the test item at each point is obtained.
EFFECT: providing a possibility of increasing the width of the measuring range and providing a possibility of testing the state of geometrical parameters of profile of the internal surface of the test item with uneven and non-parallel surfaces with high reliability and accuracy.
