FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the system and the method of reduction of iron oxide to metal iron using coke gas and gas of steel-smelting oxygen furnace. From the mix of flue gas of the shaft furnace obtained from the direct reduction shaft furnace, and BOFG carbon dioxide is removed. The obtained gas, with low CO2 content, is mixed with pure COG, humidified and heated in the heater with the heat exchanger. Oxygen is added to heated reduction gas and the obtained hot reduction gas is supplied into the direct reduction shaft furnace. The spent hot reduction gas leaves the direct reduction shaft furnace in the form of the shaft furnace flue gas with formation of steam in the heat recovery boiler of excess heat, it is purified in a scrubber refrigerator, compressed and recirculated to merge with fresh BOFG. A part of flue gas of the shaft furnace is supplied to heating burners.
EFFECT: invention is aimed at maximizing amount of produced direct reduction iron when using the external source of reducers that are coke gas (COG) and/or the basic oxygen furnace gas (BOFG).
