FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to plasma treatment of material surface, particularly, for creating highly reliable protective coatings for the shells of fuel elements (Fe) of nuclear reactor. Method of plasma treating for metal article surface includes movement of the product in sealed chamber through the treatment zone in which modification of article surface with high-temperature plasma and high-energy photon flows from discharge zone of pinch type which is carried out with pulse repetition frequency within the range from 1 to 5000 Hz and introduced into discharge average power not exceeding 20 kW, formed by the discharge system with axially symmetrical HV and grounded electrodes. Device for plasma treatment of metal article surface has a sealed chamber with treatment zone, which is tightly connected to discharge system with axially symmetrical HV and grounded electrodes able to generate discharge of pinch type to provide modification of article surface by high-temperature plasma and high-energy photon flows from discharge zone of pinch type, and port for supplying plasma forming gas into the zone of discharge.
EFFECT: production of high-performance technology for plasma treatment of material surface for cleaning, applying and modifying coatings, in particular, Fe shells, ensuring reliable protection of metal base against damage due to corrosion.
