FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a reactor for conducting gas-liquid two-phase chemical reactions. A vertical reactor for producing urea by direct synthesis, which begins with ammonia and carbon dioxide in a gas-liquid two-phase mixture, includes a hollow structure which is bounded by an inner wall, having a cylindrical shape, closed at the ends by semicircular covers and having inlet and outlet openings for process liquids in order to facilitate concurrent flow of the gas and liquid phases inside the reactor, a plurality of stacked perforated plates passing horizontally inside the structure to the inner surface of the cylindrical wall and properly spaced apart along the vertical axis such that a sector is formed between each pair of neighbouring plates, said section being hydraulically linked to a sector respectively located above and/or below it, wherein eat least one sector comprises a partition plate located between two neighbouring plates and perpendicular thereto and mounted on the surface of the plates and on the inner surface of the lining of the inner wall so as to divide the sector into two sections, the volumes of which are in a ratio of 1/3 to 3/1 with each other, preferably 0.95-1.05 and even more preferably 1.
EFFECT: invention provides efficiency and low-cost of gas-liquid reactions and increases the production capacity of the reactor.
