METHOD OF PIPELINE STRENGTHENING USING SOLDERED-WELDED COUPLING Russian patent published in 2015 - IPC F16L55/175

FIELD: machine building.

SUBSTANCE: coupling is installed on the reinforced section of the pipeline, the coupling is made out of connected process elements making closed shell around the pipeline with hollow undercoupling space and with ring cavities in area of end faces. The coupling edges are heated, and ring cavities are filled with melted additional metal or alloy. Then the coupling temperature is decreased, and undercoupling space is filled with melted base metal or alloy with lower melting temperature. Pressure of the base metal or alloy pressing in is selected to ensure uniform load distribution between the pipe and coupling considering shrinkage of the base substance during solidification.

EFFECT: simplification of repairs due to use of similar process operations and equipment for sealing of the coupling ends and to form undercoupling layer, easy non-destruction testing of the repair structure by ultrasound method.
